Da Nang's Union of Friendship Organizations has opened talks with a Vietnamese bank and a Canadian non-profit on helping local businesses reach green finance, Da Nang Radio and Television reported on 29 October.
The union met Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank's central region office and the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) that morning, according to the report. The partners plan thematic forums and intensive training for companies on climate-risk management, circular-economy models and applying environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.
They also agreed to help firms prepare projects that meet standards for green capital, aiming funds at renewable energy, clean technology and ecological infrastructure. The report describes a model in which international finance acts as seed money alongside bank credit.
The article says the parties see a path to a formal cooperation agreement, but none has been signed and no funding amounts were given.
