Da Nang met or beat most of its maternal and newborn health indicators in the first nine months of 2026, according to figures from the city's Centre for Disease Control reported by Da Nang Radio and Television. Of pregnant women, 98.7% completed four antenatal check-ups across the three trimesters.

Da Nang Radio and Television reports that 99.5% of births were attended by a health worker. It says 96.8% of mothers and newborns received home care in the first week after birth, and 98.3% received early essential newborn care during and right after delivery.

Among women who gave birth, 92.8% were tested for HIV, 93.4% for hepatitis B and 83.7% for syphilis. The report says all three screening rates exceeded their targets but does not state the targets.

The city has 152 facilities offering reproductive health services, 137 of them public and 15 non-public. The centre also ran 10 counselling sessions at five wards or communes and five high schools, covering safe motherhood, breastfeeding and adolescent reproductive health. It supervised reproductive health work across 68 wards and communes, the report adds.
