On October 27, the Da Nang People's Committee set up an inter-agency working group on mineral activities, Báo Đà Nẵng reports. The group was created by Decision No. 4817/QĐ-UBND.

It is headed by Lê Thị Kim Phương, director of the Department of Industry and Trade, with Nguyễn Hồng An, deputy director of the department, as permanent deputy head. Members come from the departments of agriculture and environment, construction, finance, justice, and science and technology, as well as home affairs, the city police, the city military command, the city tax department, large project management boards, and the people's committees of communes and wards with mining areas or related projects.

The group is to advise the chairman of the city People's Committee and coordinate agencies on geology and minerals. It will also check that procedures are followed at each stage, from planning, survey and exploration to extraction and mine closure, and help resolve land, environment, investment and construction paperwork. It is also charged with reviewing and resolving shortages of construction materials.

According to the report, priority goes to materials for the overall investment project for the Liên Chiểu container port, then to key and urgent projects and public-investment projects. The Department of Industry and Trade is the permanent agency, responsible for the group's working conditions and for compiling reports on results.
