Work began on 31 October on a social housing project for police officers and soldiers on Lê Trực street in Hòa Xuân ward, Tuổi Trẻ reports. The Ministry of Public Security organised the groundbreaking, with Da Nang Police as the lead unit.
The project covers about 12,709 square metres. Of that, 10,209 square metres is social housing land and 2,500 square metres is commercial housing land. The investor is T&H Group Miền Trung, a company based in Nghệ An province.
Plans call for around 493 units: 468 social housing apartments and 25 low-rise commercial houses. Tuổi Trẻ says the scheme is expected to house about 1,504 residents, with a ceiling of 1,900. Total investment is put at nearly VND1.052 trillion.
According to the schedule reported, construction runs from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the third quarter of 2028. Completion, acceptance and move-in are planned for the fourth quarter of 2028. The operating term is 50 years from the date the authorities decide on land allocation or lease to the investor.
The apartments will be sold, offered on lease-to-purchase terms or rented to eligible officers and soldiers. Only people who meet legal conditions may buy, and the report does not list those conditions or give prices.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Đặng Hồng Đức asked the investor to keep its commitments so officers can get homes sooner. He said priority should go to the force's most difficult cases, and asked Da Nang Police to allocate units fairly between city police and the ministry's functional units.
