Da Nang is looking for new tourism products that make visitors stay longer and spend more, Báo Đà Nẵng reports. Arrivals keep rising, the paper said on October 31, but spending per visitor lags.

In the first nine months of 2026, accommodation and food-and-beverage revenue reached nearly VND52.945 trillion, up 26.2% on a year earlier, according to the Da Nang Statistics Office. Travel service revenue was an estimated VND4.028 trillion, up 16.5%. Overnight visitors totalled about 14.4 million, up 29.6%, including roughly 7.69 million international guests and 6.74 million domestic ones.

The average stay was 1.84 days: two days for international visitors and 1.65 for domestic ones. Shopping made up around 12–15% of international visitors' trip spending in Vietnam, against more than 20–25% in many regional countries, the report says.

The city is prioritising conference and incentive travel, wellness retreats, food experiences, and cultural and nature tourism. Tran Quoc Bao, chairman of the city's Business Association, called for more entertainment and shopping and for large concerts to draw younger travellers.

Nguyen Ngoc Thien of Hava Travel urged better infrastructure and language training for craft villages and a night-time economy with pedestrian streets and night markets. Cao Tri Dung, chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, asked for more state funding to promote the city in higher-spending markets such as Europe, India, Indonesia and the Middle East.
