A cultural, sports and tourism festival for the Vietnam–Laos border region is planned for Da Nang in 2027, Báo Đà Nẵng reports. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued the plan under the theme "Culture – A Bridge to Preserve Traditions and Connect the Future".
The festival is tied to anniversaries in 2027: 65 years of Vietnam–Laos diplomatic ties, 50 years of the two countries' Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, and 60 years of Vietnam–Cambodia relations.
The wider programme includes a Vietnam Cultural Week and Film Week in Laos, a Laos Cultural Week and art exhibition in Vietnam, and a Cambodia Cultural Week with a book exhibition. Journalists from the countries are also to take part in a talk show and exchanges with journalism students.
The report does not give festival dates, specific venues in Da Nang or expected attendance, so details of what residents can attend remain to be announced.
