Hoiana Shores Golf Club, on the coast south of Hội An, has been chosen to host the 18th Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, Tuổi Trẻ reports. The Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation, the Masters Tournament and The R&A announced the selection on 29 October.
The four-day tournament is set for 28 to 31 October 2027 and will be the first edition held in Vietnam. It brings together the region's leading male amateur golfers.
The winner earns an invitation to the Masters Tournament at Augusta National and a place in The Open the following year. The runner-up, or runners-up tied with the winner, advance to The Open's final qualifying stage. Past champions named by the paper include Hideki Matsuyama and Cameron Smith.
Tuổi Trẻ describes Hoiana Shores as an 18-hole links-style course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., opened in 2019 and measuring more than 7,000 yards. The club hosted the Asia-Pacific Women's Amateur Championship in March 2025. Wee Peng Siong, the club's vice president for golf, called the decision a proud milestone for the venue.
