Da Nang has issued a scheme to build about 10,400 rental apartments for workers and low- and middle-income residents between 2026 and 2030, Tien Phong reported on Saturday, November 7.
The target is higher than the 5,910 rental apartments the central government assigned to the city for the period. The scheme is titled "Housing Development for Rent in Da Nang, 2026-2030", and the city says it will keep reviewing its project list, scale and schedule against demand and budget capacity.
Total funding is put at about VND11,568 billion. Enterprises would supply about VND5,740 billion for 5,524 apartments, the Da Nang Housing Fund about VND4,660 billion for 3,050, public investment about VND541 billion for 1,091, and trade union finance VND626.8 billion for 735.
Named projects include 650 social housing units in phase two of the Hoa Cam Industrial Zone in Cam Le ward, and 1,300 social rental units linked to the Chu Lai Industrial Zone in Nui Thanh commune. Others are 1,100 trade union units in Dien Ban Dong ward and 735 trade union units in Hai Van ward. The scheme also covers converting the West dormitory area in Hoa Khanh to 683 units.
Measures include prioritising public money to renovate and convert buildings into social rental housing, speeding up worker dormitory projects, and requiring new social housing to sit near industrial, economic or high-tech zones. The report did not give completion dates for individual projects.
