Da Nang is reviewing 244 areas proposed for commercial housing as it rewrites its housing programme for 2021–2030, Báo và Phát thanh, Truyền hình Đà Nẵng (Da Nang Newspaper and Radio-Television) reports.

The Department of Construction has asked city agencies for comments on a draft adjustment. It wants them to check the project list, review the areas set aside for commercial housing and assess how the previous programme performed.

The Department of Finance has been asked to verify figures on completed housing projects and on those under way after investment approval. Agencies must also add projects that qualify for special mechanisms under National Assembly Resolution 170/2024/QH15 and Resolution 29/2026/QH16 but are not yet in the approved programme.

The Chu Lai Open Economic Zone Management Board and local authorities proposed the 244 areas. A consulting firm is ranking them on three tests: whether projects from the old programme still fit planning, whether they are on the priority investment list of the city's approved general plan, and whether they support the city's double-digit growth target. Areas whose legal status was previously recognised but which are not yet in the programme also get priority.

Sites without boundary coordinates in the VN2000 system cannot be assessed and will be left off the list. The Chu Lai board and the wards, communes and special zones must supply the coordinates, assess the need for investment in each area and propose removing sites that do not qualify.

According to the report, the adjustment is meant to align housing development with planning and give the city a basis for attracting investment. The revised programme is expected to go to the City Party Standing Committee in December 2026, then to the Da Nang People's Council for review and approval.
