Lonely Planet has included Da Nang in its list of "10 Best Places to Travel Between Christmas and New Year's Eve", VietnamPlus reported on 3 November, citing the Vietnam News Agency.
The guide points to varied scenery of mountains, long beaches and a relaxed pace of life, and to fresh seafood and local dishes such as Quang noodles and banh xeo. It also says three World Heritage Sites nearby give visitors reasons to extend their stay.
It calls Sun World Ba Na Hills "Da Nang's top attraction", with its European-style architecture and the Golden Bridge. Beyond the mountains, it mentions the Son Tra Peninsula, with Linh Ung Pagoda and its 67-metre statue, and My Khe, an urban beach of nearly 10 kilometres.
For places to stay, the guide names the Novotel Danang Premier Han River for city life and the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, which it describes as "a vacation within a vacation".
