Da Nang Vice Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi has told Hội An's wards and Tân Hiệp commune to publish hotline numbers for visitor and resident complaints and to deal with each report within 24 hours, according to the city portal. She gave the instruction at a working session on the morning of October 28 with the People's Committees of Hội An, Hội An Đông and Hội An Tây wards and Tân Hiệp commune.

The portal's report does not list the hotline numbers or say who will staff them. It says the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will track the complaints and compile the results.

Other instructions covered the experience of visitors in the old town. Authorities are to place QR codes at ticket counters, old houses, assembly halls and attractions so tourists can rate services and staff attitudes. They are also to review and upgrade public toilets and study adding rest benches in the old quarter.

The same session listed enforcement tasks for several agencies. The Department of Industry and Trade is to check business operations, price labelling and the origin of goods, and the Department of Construction is to review the safety of tourist boats and landing stages. City police are to step up patrols in crowded areas at peak hours.

Localities were also told to review and deal with unlicensed parking lots, and to check noise and penalise bars and pubs that break sound limits after 10 p.m. The portal says street touts, pestering and disguised begging in the old town, the Bảy Mẫu coconut forest and other attractions are to be dealt with strictly.

The session also reviewed public investment spending as of October 27. Hội An ward had disbursed more than 81.5 billion dong, or 66.1 per cent of its plan, while Hội An Đông was above 63 per cent, Hội An Tây at 51.57 per cent and Tân Hiệp near 37 per cent. The city's target is 88 per cent by the end of October, and the Department of Finance said all four remain below it.

Funds carried over from 2025 and not spent will be cancelled and not reallocated next year, the portal reported. Hội An Đông and Hội An Tây were asked to speed up.

On tourism figures, Hội An Đông estimated 873,277 overnight guests up to October 31, including 697,179 international visitors, with average room occupancy of 68.57 per cent. In Hội An Tây, the Thanh Hà pottery village and the Trà Quế vegetable village received 243,551 visitors, 191,438 of them international, with revenue above 8.5 billion dong, 77.49 per cent of the annual plan and 3 per cent lower than a year earlier.

The wards cited a lack of links between destinations, products and services, uneven transport, parking and landing-stage infrastructure, and seasonality as their main difficulties.
