Nha Trang Ward in Khanh Hoa Province has issued rules banning 10 categories of activity at the parks and beaches along Tran Phu Street, Tuoi Tre News reported on 6 November.

The regulations cover the stretch from Bach Dang Park to Yersin Park and apply to organisations, individuals and tourists. The ward says they aim to protect the coastal environment, keep order and preserve the tourism landscape.

Banned activities include organising sports events, recreation or camping without written approval, street vending, lighting fires, flying kites and conducting unlicensed business. Playing football is prohibited, as are lying on park benches, stepping on lawns, damaging plants, littering and urinating or defecating in public.

Pets may not roam freely or foul the parks and are not allowed on the beaches. Swimming outside buoyed areas or where swimming is prohibited, and fishing near the shore in bathing zones, are also banned. Personal water craft may not be kept in parks or on beaches, except rescue vehicles.

People may not drive on lawns, flower gardens or walkways, or park outside designated areas. Using soap, shampoo or cleaning chemicals at shower posts, washing clothes and other activities that create waste are prohibited.

Licensed service providers may operate from 5:00 am to midnight and must collect waste and restore the site. Police and other agencies are assigned to patrol around the clock. Violations can be reported to the ward police hotline, 02583.819.494, or the Public Administrative Service Center, 0357.917.760.
