Work is moving again on the Tiểu La road in Thăng Bình commune after years of delays, Báo Đà Nẵng reports. The 839.25-metre road links Tư Thiết and Bình Quý and joins the already-widened Tiểu La road that leads to National Highway 1 and the Võ Chí Công coastal road.

The right-of-way is 14.5 metres wide, with a 10.5-metre carriageway and a 2-metre sidewalk on each side. The surface will be 7 centimetres of asphalt concrete over a crushed-stone base, with drainage on both sides. Total investment is 30.482 billion VND, of which the winning bid for construction is a little over 11 billion VND.

The project was approved in December 2020 with a budget of nearly 20 billion VND and was moved into the 2021–2025 period in March 2024 because of site-clearance delays. Rising prices for materials, machinery and labour led the first contractor to ask to end its contract, and at one point the design was cut to 9.5 metres without side drains before the full width was restored. Work stopped on 1 July 2025 when the district-level government was abolished.

City leaders agreed in September 2026 to resume the project at the full design width. Construction began in June 2026 on an eight-month schedule. Site clearance affected 165 land plots and is finished.

By 30 October about 900 metres of round culverts had been laid on both sides and a two-cell box culvert under the road was complete. The contractor, Nhật Huy Group Joint Stock Company, is installing the side drainage and will then prepare the road base.

Nguyễn Văn Lanh, the company's chairman, told the paper the aim is to substantially finish the road before Tết 2027. Resident Nguyễn Kim Trỗi described the old road as narrow and worn, dusty in dry weather and flooded in rain, with accidents caused by potholes. Đoàn Thanh Khiết, chairman of the commune People's Committee, said the project fits local planning and supports urban development.
