Da Nang is weighing about VND270 billion of investment to upgrade two drug rehabilitation facilities run by the city police, Bao Da Nang reports. Vice Chair Nguyen Thi Anh Thi chaired a meeting on the afternoon of 4 November to hear the proposal.
The report said the facilities are overcrowded and much of their infrastructure has badly deteriorated. The two projects fall under Project 5 of Resolution 80/2026/NQ-HDND, the city's drug prevention programme to 2030, and were proposed as priorities. The article does not name the facilities or say where they are.
Ms Thi told the police department the file was incomplete. She asked for the implementation plan to set out each project's tasks, lead and coordinating agencies, schedule and annual budget, and for capital and recurrent spending to be separated.
She also asked that public investment procedures be completed and that the departments of Construction, Health and Justice, and the affected localities, give their views on the draft decisions. No completion date was given.
The wider programme also covers voluntary community-based rehabilitation, medical equipment, training, and reception and counselling points.
