Da Nang Hospital ran a workshop on October 27 on building a stroke treatment network in the city, Báo Đà Nẵng reported. More than 200 doctors, nurses and technicians from city hospitals and regional health centres took part.
Topics included the Angels programme and its support for stroke networks, treatment within the "golden time", how grassroots facilities currently receive patients, and skills for early recognition and first management. Sessions also covered consultation mechanisms and coordination for safe, rapid referral.
Hospital director Lê Đức Nhân said stroke is a dangerous emergency that can kill or leave severe disability without timely care, and that "every minute matters." He said local facilities play a key part in spotting warning signs, giving first treatment and triggering transfers. Da Nang Hospital will remain the top-tier hospital in the network, strengthening specialist treatment, inter-hospital consultation and training.
Department of Health director Trần Thanh Thủy said the network's value lies in connecting facilities so each works more effectively within one system. The report does not give the number of sessions, a curriculum or details of the Angels programme.
