Da Nang's city government on October 29 told commune and ward authorities to move households living in the highest-risk areas out of harm's way as the rainy and storm season continues, Báo Đà Nẵng reports. The instruction is in Official Letter No. 11081/UBND-KT from the city People's Committee.

Local authorities are to review and update the list of areas and households at risk of landslides, flash floods, inundation and erosion. Households in areas rated at "very high" risk are to be moved first. Where permanent resettlement is not yet ready, localities must draw up temporary evacuation plans that cover residents' basic living needs.

The letter also presses for faster payment of support under City People's Council Resolution No. 63/2026/NQ-HĐND, dated June 29, 2026, which sets help for resettling people in mountainous and disaster-prone areas from 2026 to 2030. Localities are to disburse everything allocated for 2026 and explain any delay or any request to return funds.

Communes and wards must report on their reviews, relocations, disbursement and funding gaps before October 30. The Department of Agriculture and Environment will lead monitoring and inspection.

Báo Đà Nẵng says the city chairman calls rainy-season safety an urgent priority and that leaders may be held responsible for negligence. The article gives no count of affected households.
