Da Nang People's Committee chairman Nguyen Manh Hung met shipping and industrial-park companies in Denmark and Belgium this month, Da Nang's English-language newspaper reported on October 25.
On October 20 in Copenhagen he met A.P. Moller-Maersk chief executive Vincent Clerc, along with representatives of APM Terminals and Hateco Group. They discussed seaports, logistics and supply chains, with a focus on developing Lien Chieu Port and the Free Trade Zone. The report says only that dialogue was maintained and cooperation advanced; it names no agreement.
On October 22 in Brussels he met DEEP C, a Belgian industrial park and port developer active in Vietnam since 1997. The company is surveying possible industrial park sites in Da Nang, particularly in the Free Trade Zone, the report says. Hung briefed it on the approved Da Nang master plan to 2050 and invited its leaders to a plan announcement and investment promotion conference in November.
The trip also included meetings with Carlsberg and aircraft-parts maker ASCO, both covered separately.
