The US dollar slid further against the dong on Tuesday morning, 3 November, extending losses from an 18-month low reached the previous week, VnExpress International reports. At 10:58 a.m. Vietcombank was selling dollars at VND25,970, down 0.04% from Monday.
On the unofficial market the dollar was at VND26,150, up 0.38% from Monday. The dollar index, which measures the currency against a basket of major rivals, stood at 101.76, slightly weaker after a one-month low on Monday.
The report does not give the official reference rate or the banks' buying rate, so the picture is incomplete. Gold prices also eased that afternoon, though they still sat above Monday's level, VnExpress International reported in a separate item. The National Statistics Office said earlier in the day that the domestic dollar index fell 0.26% in October from September, and was down 1.32% from December 2025.
