Da Nang is studying a plan to add two more fire-and-water show nights at the Dragon Bridge each week, Tuoi Tre reports. Nothing has been approved yet.

The shows currently run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. The proposal would add Tuesday and Wednesday, giving five show nights, with Monday and Thursday kept free for maintenance of the system.

Who proposed it

The idea comes from river tourism transport businesses under the Da Nang Tourism Association. Tuoi Tre reports that city People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung directed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Construction to coordinate and study it urgently.

The businesses also suggest sound and lighting systems, LED lights along the dragon's body synchronised to music and more varied show scripts. In the longer term they see the area becoming a night street-festival space.

Who would pay

According to the report, river tourism businesses currently contribute VND5,000 per passenger toward running costs. On about 2,320 visitors a day, the businesses estimate that comes to roughly VND11.6 million a day, or about VND348 million a month.

They propose raising the contribution to VND10,000 per passenger. With an estimated 3,480 visitors a day, that would be about VND34.8 million a day, or more than VND1 billion a month. Tuoi Tre stresses this is not a ticket charge for people watching from public areas, and the figures are the businesses' own estimates.

The money would cover equipment, fuel, maintenance, labour, fire safety and traffic control.

What happens next

Relevant agencies are to collect feedback during November 2026 and finalise a plan for the People's Committee to consider. The businesses are asking for a one-year pilot starting on 1 December 2026, if it is permitted.
