Da Nang's Department of Finance says the developer of the New Danang City project has not yet resubmitted the documents the city requires, Tuoi Tre reports. The project has drawn complaints from buyers for several years.

New Danang City is a mixed-use scheme of commercial space, apartments and residential land covering about 8.7 hectares on Hoang Van Thai Road in Hoa Khanh ward. The developer is Phu Gia Thinh Housing Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company.

What the city has asked for

Tuoi Tre reports that the complaints concern rights and obligations under sale contracts and the handover of land and homes. It also notes that in 2021 the company was fined for administrative violations after raising capital from more than 500 people.

On 12 September 2026 the city People's Committee Office announced the chairman's conclusions from a dialogue with businesses and investors. The company was told to carry out its earlier commitments quickly, complete its financial-capacity documents including audited financial statements, and commit to meeting its financial obligations.

The chairman also required the company to meet affected households directly and agree written resolutions to their claims and lawsuits.

Where it stands

The Department of Finance leads the review with the City Inspectorate and the departments of Construction and of Agriculture and Environment. The City Inspector-General had earlier set up a working group to receive residents and handle disputes between the company and customers.

The department says the company has not resubmitted the required files. Once it does, and once it has reached written agreements with residents, the department will appraise the files with other agencies and advise the People's Committee on approving the investment policy.

Tuoi Tre's headline refers to hundreds of complaining customers, but the article does not give an exact number. The company's response was not included in the report.
