On 2 November, Hoiana Resort & Golf said it has helped nearly 7,800 children at 25 schools in Thang Dien and Duy Nghia communes get heart screenings this year, Tuoi Tre reports.
The screenings were held in two rounds, in May and October 2026, with the VinaCapital Foundation's Rural Outreach Clinic programme. Paediatric cardiologists visited the communities to examine children and identify those needing further tests. The first two rounds found 39 children with heart defects.
Hoiana's contribution totals VND300 million across three screening rounds in 2026. A third round is planned for December at schools in Thang Binh commune.
Through the foundation's Heartbeat Vietnam programme, Hoiana says it has funded heart surgery for 32 children since 2022. A 2023 fundraising campaign raised more than VND500 million and paid for free treatment and care for 14 children.
"Every child deserves a chance to grow up healthy, go to school and pursue their dreams," said Alan Teo, chief executive of Hoiana Resort & Golf.
