On 5 November Da Nang officials reviewed a VND186.71 billion cultural park proposal for a 21,900 square metre site in Hai Chau ward, Bao Da Nang reports. The Nhat Nguyet Garden Cultural Park would sit on Nhu Nguyet Street, next to Da Nang Software Park No. 2 and the approach road to Thuan Phuoc Bridge.

The proposal covers a cultural landmark area, a plaza, a shrine, shelters, gardens, lighting and technical infrastructure. Its stated aims are to add public cultural space, present the history of the Cua Han area and improve the landscape around the street. The report does not name an investor.

Deputy Chairman of the city People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi chaired a meeting with departments on the morning of 5 November. Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien, director of the Da Nang Heritage Management and Museum Center, presented the project.

Thi told the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to revise the dossier and gather opinions from other departments by 8 November, then send them to the Department of Finance by 15 November. The Department of Construction was asked to check the site against planning, and the Land Fund Development Center to review the site's condition, boundaries and any auction plans.

The Department of Science and Technology must report by 15 November on a separate project, a national shared laboratory and semiconductor testing and packaging centre with a public park, and say whether its boundaries overlap this site. City leaders will then decide.
