On 5 November, Bao Da Nang reported that planners are arguing over whether to add traffic-management, tolling and truck-weighing systems at the Tuy Loan interchange (source). The 1.7 km project links the Da Nang-Quang Ngai expressway, National Highway 14B and routes into the city.
The systems under consideration are intelligent transport systems, toll collection and overload-control weigh stations. Nguyen Ngoc Hoang, deputy director of the Da Nang Transport and Agriculture Project Management Board, said land clearance is largely complete and construction is under way. He said the additions fall outside the approved boundary, little land remains, and standalone investment could add clearance costs and delay work.
The board recommends integrating the systems with neighbouring expressway systems or a central one, rather than building them separately. It also proposes asking the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to plan tolling for the interchange and its 0.8 km connector without a new standalone station.
Ministry of Construction leaders, during a site inspection, urged agencies to agree quickly on a plan that reuses existing infrastructure and keeps systems connected. A representative of contractor Dacinco Construction Investment said finishing the infrastructure and keeping routes continuous is the priority, and that adding systems without an overall operating plan risks overlap.
The target is through-traffic before 31 December. Tolling on the neighbouring Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan expressway is expected to start in January 2027.
