Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City has adjusted where priority passengers go through security screening at all three terminals, effective 1 November, according to a notice the airport supplied to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and which it published on 5 November. The airport says the change is meant to ease passenger flow under its programme for a "secure, smart and friendly" airport.

Terminal 1: the priority lane moves to the first floor. A priority screening area on the ground floor will be set up flexibly depending on traffic.

Terminal 2: the priority lane stays at screening machine no. 1 on the right wing of the departures hall (second floor), behind the check-in counters for priority customers. Passengers in wheelchairs are directed to machine no. 10 on the left wing.

Terminal 3: the priority lane on the right wing moves to the central screening area of the departures hall (second floor), with a flexible priority area on the right wing.

Priority or assisted passengers include people entitled under regulations, crew and aviation staff on duty, older people, pregnant women, infants, people with disabilities and passengers who need special help.

The airport notes that an airline's priority check-in service for business-class passengers is not the same as the right to use the priority security lane, and that each lane is used according to the rules and signs in the terminal. It advises travellers to follow their airline's information, watch the signs and arrive early with their documents ready.
